I'm not sure there are many who like the congestion charge but some of the points made here are absurd. You would have to be blind not to know where it was. It is not just Red C signs on the road but big signs at the point of entry and with countdown signs on the way there as well. Add to that if you have a Satnav it will also show the zone.
When it comes to paying others have already pointed out how many different ways there are to pay. You can forget on the day and still pay the next day. You can set up an account so you can pay when you want. You can do it online so all this "I went in unexpectedly and then had to fly at short notice to Antarctica so I couldn't pay" doesn't really stand up to examination.
For the most part I will now take the tube if my journey is in the middle of the day but I understand that is not always possible. What I don't accept is that anyone is hiding what happens if you don't pay.

I love it, utterly brilliant idea. I would also take away the resident's discount, and keep increasing the charge until revenue stopped increasing.

But then I don't drive in the congestion zone, only cycle, walk, or use the bus.
  • The whole scheme is a near scam for the motorists, I say this because I believe the underlining reason for setting it up was to protect London from terriorism activities. TFL = Govt , DVLA - Govt, dont think for one second that they are not the same entity.
