Private parking fines

Have a look at the address of the solicitor - you will probably find it is the same as that of the people who issued the ticket - or the same postcode at least.
i.e. it's written from the same office on differently headed paper.0 -
What solicitor ?0

Thank you all for your advice!
after having a second look at things and in particular the original tickets I decided to send another letter to BGS services and to Roxburghe debt collectors saying that I wouldn't be paying the fines.
They are not fines. Please stop writing to them, they will give up sooner if you ignore.
For interest for yourselfs that tickets have all been signed by "officer name - 999" in a very distinct handwriting style, however the top of the ticket with my car details has quite obviously been completed by a another two completely different people with totally different handwriting styles.
All irrelevant. Please understand that the whole thing is a scam.
That aside, today I have received another three letters, one for each fine, this time from a solicitor stating the intention to take me to court, and charging me another £208 PER TICKET! for the privelage of receiving this letter.
You will not be taken to court. Roxburghe/G.White aka M.Sobell have never been known to go anywhere near a court.
Advice please! is this one that I should ignore totally? and am I going to end up paying these solicitors fees even if I get off the parking fines?
They are not fines and there is nothing to "get off". How can you owe "solicitors fees" when you don't owe them anything in the first place?
Thanks guys
Ignore, ignore and ignore again. Trust us, it works.0 -
Carry on ignoring
They're just as worthless as the original parking "invoices".
Trust me, I'm a professional PPC ignorer
Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
Yep - stop writing to them, stop worrying. You should also have a read of the Pepipoo forums, there is a raft of information on there that will put your mind at ease about the legitimacy (or lack thereof) of these companies and their bogus practices.0

To put your mind at rest, I'll quickly run through my experience with Roxburgh. My car was ticketed 3 times last year by a private parking company......
Ignored tickets
letters from Roxburgh (laid out officially and peppered with legal gibberish)
ignored
Letters from Graham White
Ignored
Further letters from Graham White (Threatening action)
Ignored
Further further letters from Graham White..
Ignored (I haven't even bothered to open them).
Tel calls from Graham White, usually missed as through the day (01932 STD code), I just hung up if I did answer.
No nearer to a court /payment/other action than when I got the tickets. Frequency of phone calls now reducing.
At no time have I made any contact with them or confirmed any of my details.
A quick note on the phone calls, which are a little annoying if I'm honest. They seem to originate from some sort of automated system, ie at times there is no-one there if I answer or the phone rings once then stops. My guess is that a room full of minimum wage/commision only monkeys are sat in front of a computer which just runs through a list of numbers to be dialled then hands them on.
I'm slightly annoyed that they have somehow got my ex-directory number, but I refuse to enter into dialogue.
They are playing the percentage game. If only 50% of people give in and pay at each stage, they collect a considerable sum of money. When it gets to the ones who haven't paid, it's just too much aggro/expense to follow up on the threats made. They aren't huge fans of court action as it's seldom effective, always expensive and may backfire. Remember, the origin of clamping being outlawed in Scotland was a court appearence.
Follow the advice given on here (and other boards) by those who know what they are talking about. Do some digging about on the internet. Listen to what people say who have been ther, done it eyc. Your next course of action should become clear to you very quickly.0 -
Thank you very much for the advice.
I just got a letter from Roxburgh demanding payment from BGS. I will ignore the letter and be relaxed about the the outcome.Wee_Willy_Harris wrote: »To put your mind at rest, I'll quickly run through my experience with Roxburgh. Thank you very much for your post here. I take your advice to ignore all the letters from BGS, I have not been contacted for a while since the last letter, a month ago. Someone called me from BGS, I said it was wrong number. I think they may have given up my case now. I hopeWee_Willy_Harris wrote: »To put your mind at rest, I'll quickly run through my experience with Roxburgh. My car was ticketed 3 times last year by a private parking company......

Hopefully they have given up and gone away, but don't worry anyway if you get more just carry on ignoring them!0
