We are with Virgin Media, but have an old Ntl email address which we haven't been able to access for over a week.
Keep getting this message:
Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.
I haven't a clue what this means?! I've tried getting into the Virgin website & I get the same message.
Hubby tried phoning Virgin to sort but they wouldn't help as the account is in my name.
Just wondering if anyone on here can help, otherwise I guess it's another phone call to Virgin. I was trying to avoid this as I'm not very 'techie' minded & I know I'll end up with a headache when they try & explain things over the phone

right you are in luck my eldery neighbour having same issues and has been on and off for last week now. basically they are switching over to a new system and they are trying to sort bugs out in it long and short of it you will have to put up with it and wait i managed after a while of mucking about to get into the old log in screen and that would be the only way to get in. i told her to bin the virgin email and use www.hotmail.co.uk instead if she ever changes isp she never lose email plus you also get msn messenger as well which is good fun also she said alot of her friends and family where on that as well so would change over as it is free.0

Is this a webmail system? If so try deleting the cookies for it.0

If you ring Virgin, go through security first, then say you have an email problem and are handing the phone over to your husband, they will then talk to him.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Basil, I knew they were updating something, annoying that's it's affected emails though. I do also have a google email but the ntl one was my main one & has all my contacts etc, think I'll swap when/if I get this sorted.
Timothy, I have the email page on favourites & the address does have webmail in it. Sorry to sound dense, but how do I delete cookies for it, as I would like to give this a try??
macman, will try this approach if the cookie thing doesn't make any difference, thanks.
Actually, decided to have a fiddle about & see if I can work the cookie thing out myself. Watch this space ...0 -
in ie8 safety top right corner, delete browsing history tick cookies box hit delete button and your done0
