Hi PP, thanks for starting the thread.

This is subject to change but will help me to start thinking about what we're doing next week! Trying to use up some freezer contents so that I can take advantage of the free 2.25kg bag of Homefries voucher that I got emailed!

Monday: [STRIKE]Some kind of stir fry[/STRIKE] Sausage and mash with Jamie's Onion Gravy (YUM) and veg as I forgot we'd taken sausages out of the freezer to make room for the Homefries.
Tuesday: [STRIKE]Some kind of risotto and salad[/STRIKE] Out at the cinema (free preview) so just a Splendips for me
Wednesday: [STRIKE]2 for 1 at Revolution as we have a gig to go to (guest list!)[/STRIKE] No gig as the last 2 trains back to ours have been replaced with a bus this week that takes over twice as long! So we'll be going home and having the stir fry we were supposed to have on Monday.
Thursday:[STRIKE] 2 for 1 somewhere else as we're going to the Theatre (half price)[/STRIKE] Again, no theatre cause of the train so we'll be having the risotto from Tuesday!
Friday: Cheese and tomato flatbread from the freezer with salad and chips
Saturday: A free concert in the evening so something quick and easy - pasta maybe?
Sunday: OH has a half marathon in Chester so not sure what our plans are.

Sorry I'm a bit late this week - did it yesterday but forgot to post it:

Saturday – Chicken fajitas with sour cream & potato wedges

Sunday – Cheesy parsnip topped cottage pie with broccoli & mashed carrots & parsnips

Monday – Chickpea chilli with rice & naan bread (new recipe - I LOVE chickpeas :j)

Tuesday – Toad in the hole with mashed potatoes & cabbage

Wednesday – Wild rice meatball chilli (done in SC on Tuesday night) (another new recipe as I have a glut of meatballs that I got reduced in Co-op :D)

Thursday – HM French onion soup (DS request). Beans on toast with poached eggs

Friday – Salmon, cous cous & salad

Have a great week everyone! x

Looking at what we should be getting in the veg box it doesn't look like we will be having pasta with PSB, so as a change of plan (and to use up the massive organic chicken breasts we have had in freezer for about 18months:o) we are going to have a variation of this
Variations being-will only have regular mushrooms, and may serve with pappardelle rather than spuds.
May also end up having spicy duck ramen on friday instead of the retro curry, depending on veg box contents its probably a bit better for us than chip shop chips!

    Hi all

Thanks for the thread! And thanks for all the ideas you've given me! I'm about to do a big shop for the rest of the month so now I've not got any excuse not to get enough to last! (How can you spend £100 and then get home and have nowt for tea?!!)

This week is going to go like this:

Monday - Tuna pesto pasta bake
Tuesday - mexican 'lasagne' (lasagne sheets are tortilla wraps and chilli instead of bolognese)
    Wednesday - Chicken/turkey curry
Thursday - Jacket potatoes with chilli from Tues
Friday - HM fish and chips

    Out on Saturday

Slow cook something on Sunday - shall report back!

Lunches are going to be leftovers:
    - turkey mince with mascarpone cheese and spinach pasta
    - tuna pasta bake
    - pearl barley risotto
    - savoury rice and sumat...

    Catch up throughout the week

I know that I really have to mealplan - so this week I'll give it another go - and try to stick to it!

Tonight - Beef stew with potatoes & veg
Monday - Tuna steaks & veg (purchased from Chinese Supermarket - SOOOOO much cheaper!)
Tuesday - Veg stirfry & rice
Wednesday - OH's Birthday so will go out for treat!
    Thursday - Pasta bake
Friday - Smoked Mackeral & salad
Saturday - Mexican at home with kit
Sunday - Roast Chickn & veg (will stretch this!)

Lunches will be ham sarnies for kids and leftovers for me.

Breakfasts - cereal for kids, toast for me
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.
