I always go to PO to post- main disadvantage is that I take money from my own bank acc instead of paypal acc (although could transfer some across I end up never bothering!), advantages- POP, supporting local sub-PO, nice chat, etc etc!

Dont forget you can get a Pay Pal prepaid Visa debit card, you transfer funds free via pay pal, if you transfer before midnight its on the card by approx. 2pm the next day.

If the PO staff near me opened all the counters when there is a queue then I would be more likely to use them. Happy to support businesses that support their customers back...
  • I forgot to mention one other reason why I like to use PayPal postage - you can print the label without the postage cost showing.

The items I send are often delicate ceramics which involve a lot of packing materials. I usually add between 50p to £1 to the actual postage cost for materials but people can be very harsh on your DSRs even for a small amount like this. Not displaying the postage cost on the label is definately an advantage. Don't forget that if you charge the actual postage amount, say £10 for example, in this instance you're only actually receiving £9.66 after PayPal charges.

I recently bought an item via a commission bid in a 'real world' auction. They offered "for a small packing fee plus the cost of postage" to post items won. Actual postage cost was £9 their total charge was £30! What would eBayers make of that. :-)
