Skint - might be overstepping the mark here a little, why not talk to Paula.... She might be able to do the toppers for you at a reduced rate (still with profit for her) and that way you both get to make money and it helps both of you out a bit in the marketing / USP angle.... Just thinking aloud....

did think of that mams,thanks, but the girl is turning out to be a major pain in the a**e so if she cant be bothered the week before her wedding to have the cake topper i'll not get involved, will decorate the cake with the flowers and if she has her "bride & groom" fine - i asked her about two months ago to get one as i didnt want to choose and the fact that i'm only charging £150 for the cake i dont want to go ahead and order one from paula as i dont know if i'd get the money for it, beginning to doubt my abilities again aaaaaaaaaaaah! was looking in a couple of bakers shops in a wee village about 40 miles from me last week and their cakes in the window were dreadful, all faded and some were collapsing, so i shouldnt really be doubting myself as i know mine are better (big headed or what!)
sorry on a downer today and dont really know why, house is a tip, o/h a pain and kids dead argumentative hopefully will wake up in a better frame of mind tomorrow.

Skint we all have those days/weeks. yet we are all back on here a week or so later feeling good about stuff again. not saying to make yourself be positive but just to recognise what is going on and know you'll come out the otherside feeling ok about it all.
Paula's toppers may be good to remember in future as could work really well together with what you do.
Hope Oh and kids wake up in better frames of mind too!!!

hi Jo, i know but just hate feeling like this, will feel better when i see the cakes made, must get a hold of Paulas website/contact and even some business cards if she has any spare as i think they are brilliant! real talent there!

hi jo - will post pictures as soon as they are done! dont seem to have recieved "ville" invite, must dash got to pick D/S up from Cadets at 9.30 and get other half up - he's on nightshift this week, then take dog out - hopefully be sunny tomorrow weather up here has been dreadful - just wish it would thunder to clear the air as its really "heavy"

as long she's not like the bridezilla that was on Cake Boss on TV, she wrecked the cake because she didnt like it! will just have to learn a lesson and lay down ground rules i.e any cake toppers if needed must be with me 3 wks before the wedding! its all a learning curve! ~dont think i've started coming up the other side yet!
