Dear All
I can only apologies if this has been answered 100 times but I unable to find my answer through any of the articles or this forum. Looking for some quick closure, here I go:
I had a Marbles Credit Card in 2008 and unfortunately defaulted on the arrangement to the sum of £3,317.61. Since then I have sorted out my finance I have been paying back the debt via a debt collection agency. In July I will clear the balance for the full amount having now only learnt about the OFT ruling.
I just need to know have I got a case as I have on 4 consecutive statements charges for £12 each for ‘late payment charges’ and’ over limit admin charges’. Did the ruling mean that you couldn’t only get charged one amount of £12 per month? What confused me from the guide was that:
"For any charges on or after June 2006, you were probably hit for £12 each time. As this is already set to the OFT recommended amount, you simply need to ask for the full £12 amount to be refunded"
Does that mean I could just ask for the whole amount plus interest?
Hope this makes sense.
John
