HELP! Need to access HD! Will pay!

I have read that link for the repair install guide. I am concerned about the warnings asking me to delete files i have never heard of in order to avoid hard drive data loss. Deleting these files will be even harder since i cannot log on and must use recovery console (and today was my first time trying it). Also it warns I WILL loose documents & settings?? I have therefore decided not to try this and hunt the cheapest IDE cable. I have 2 days before I will need important data so may order one today. They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0

i know the ide cable is £40 but maplins do a no questions asked 7 day refund0

Thanks for you help guys but I have found the best solution:
CBL Client Services has quoted to do it for me for £350-£950 +VAT. And they will also come and get it and have someone look at it today instead of tommorow for +£250.

another possiblity is a Linux Boot Disk such as Knoppix, boot using that and burn the data to a cdEx forum ambassador

Are your symptons the same as the Logon - Logoff loop caused by BlazeFind malware described here --> http://www.winxptutor.com/wsaremove.htm?
If so, try the Recovery Console steps. If the COPY command produces a 'file not found' error, it means you don't have Blazefind malware.0 -
This afternoon I have tried a few things i have read from the sites suggesting changing the userinit.exe via recovery console, but no success. This is due to my 'limited skills' or the problme/virus being worse than thought.
I have got the IDE/USB cable from maplin and have finally managed to dismantle my PC and set the thing up on my laptop. IT WORKS   :j
I took a look in the windows/system32 folder and the userinit.exe file was not there at all!!! Neither was one of the files that the sites suggested it may have been changed to. I have tried to copy over the userinit.exe from my laptop but still had the log in problems. Upon reconnecting to my laptop i discovered the file had been deleted again somehow:mad:
Currently I am backing up my files now that i have a way to access them (IDE/USB). Just another 5 hours of waiting for files to transfer lol. Will do a HD reformat with fresh windows install tomorrow.
Thanks everyone for your great promt advice and saving me alot of money (the CBL quote was real btw).
Thanks to ian for the IDE/USB idea. I didn't know such thing existed! They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0
