Replacing oil pressure switch

I'm told (by quick fit) that i need to get the oil pressure switch replaced on my Y reg(2001) 1.4 skoda fabia, as the oil warning light comes on intermitently, even though the oil level is fine.
Any idea how much should i expect to pay for this to be done? i'm guessing its not a major job?
Also my father in law is pretty handy with car maintainance is this the kind of job that could be done by someone with a bit of knowledge?

any help much appreciated

thanks

I would get a second opinion.

A flickering oil pressure warning light could mean than oil pressure is perhaps lower than it should be. After all, that's what the indicator light is designed to show.

It could be a faulty switch too.
Depending on the car (I don't know if that Skoda is one of them), the oil pressure switch is cheap and easy to change.
Perhaps change the switch first and if the problem isn't cured, investigate further.
