Unusual to praise the place, but credit where credit is due!
I went to cook some mince the other day, and noticed it had an 'odd' odour, got the packet back out of the bin to discover the USE BY date was actually on the day I bought it and this was three days later. I wrote a grumpy (but polite) email having a whinge about this, whilst admitting that I should have checked the date when I picked it up, however it was pretty annoying to chuck it out having cost £2.20.
Anyway get home this evening to find a long letter of apology from Tesco explaining that the store manager had been spoken to about how it had remained on the 'full' price shelf and also gave me a £5 card as a 'sorry'.
When I had fully expected to get a short 'oh dear we are a bit sorry but tough it wasn't actually out of date' type of thing!!
