Moved from BT to Sky Talk

I am so angry!!! I moved from BT to Sky talk in March because BT were changing their free hours from 6am to 7pm and then from 6pm to 7pm, so I followed Martins advice and changed before the new times came into effect, only now Sky Talk are also changing their time to the same as BT!!! I ahve just spoken to Sky who sit there and say 'well we didn't know the times were changing!!'

So I'm now on the lookout for anew home phone provider!! Any ideas anyone??

:(

I think you'll find you have agreed to a 12 month contract with Sky.
How long do my Sky Talk subscriptions last?

Unless we or you are allowed to end your subscription(s) earlier, you must subscribe to each Sky Talk Service you have ordered for a minimum of 12 months starting from the date on which your chosen Sky Talk Service(s) is/are activated
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

It goes to show that when BT make a change to their terms, pricing, or call pricing/times the other big companies follow suit. Look at the 0845 and 0870 numbers becoming inclusive to packages and the evening call change. All the big players are likely to follow suit. When BT increase their daytime rates to landlines other companies also tend to follow.

Yeah, there is no real competition.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Surely if they have changed the times you have the same right to get out of the contract as people did with BT when they did it. I got out of my BT contract on that basis.

I think if they change the times you have the right to opt out of the contract as you would have agreed to the old hours.
  • Correct - if you signed up with the offer of the calls on the old hours, and were notified later that the times would change, you can cancel without penalty.

Good luck with Sky's call centre though, the only company with worse call centres is BT.

And with stopping their accounts systems taking Sky Talk charges. As you must have a Sky TV subscription, they'll still have you direct debit details .......
