Hi everyone, my family and I are going down the Crown Carvery in Whitchurch this evening (The Hollybush) where they do a lovely carvery for £3.60 a time.

With this in mind I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions where a family could eat out relatively cheaply in the area, any offers that anyone knows of?

Cheers! :D

The Upper Boat Inn, just of the A470, on the Treforrest turn off, by Tesco does a carvery for £3.95 per adult Mon to Sat. Massive portions and good selection of veg. Not left for hours under the heat lamps as in the likes of the Toby places. Sunday it's £5.95 a head. Child friendly, can get busy but worth any wait.

  • Cosmo down Cardiff Bay is cheap for lunchtime meals. It is £6.99 for adults and half that for children (mine are very small, so I'm not sure at what point the definition of child runs out) and is all you can eat Chinese, some Malay, some Indian. It also has lots of desserts. If you are feeling flush, they expand the selection in the evenings to include Japanese and a teriyaki bar for £12.99 per adult. The evenings tend to be crowded though so it is worth booking in advance.

One of our kids' favourite places to go.
