Help with mobility scooter repair

Just wondering if there is anywhere that I can get help with the cost of repairing my mobility scooter.
It is going to cost me at least £380 and I just haven't got that kind of money to spare.

Sounds a lot of money, how long have you had your scooter for, where do you live as the person that I have, would not repair a scooter if it is 5 years old. and would tell you if it is worth repairing.

I got it 2nd hand a couple of years ago off ebay.
The scooter I have is a Rascal 889 which is a large scooter thats heavy duty due to where I live being really hilly, and its the motor thats gone.

I live in a hilly area so yes a heavy duty scooter is essential, maybe it would be worthwhile shopping around for another one. Unfortunately there is no help in getting scooters repaired or even buying one, do you get mobility allowance?

If you are an ex member of HM Forces, or a dependant of someone who was, you could apply to The British Legion for possible help with this.

    Hi there

I know it's not ideal, but is there a Shopmobility place in your town? The one near me is staffed by the kindest and most generous people you could meet and by borrowing a scooter off them, Mrs Grouch and I were able to get out and about over the winter.

It doesn't repair your scooter, but does give you the option of getting out and about whilst getting the money together for the repair.
