I am with British Gas on their dual fuel Websaver 6 tariff. Is it possible to switch to the Websaver 7 and is there any benefit in doing so?

Thanks

Dunno, what do the comparison sites suggest?
That gum you like is coming back in style.

It seems to be the same package but that the Websaver 6 offers it until 1 May 2011 and the Websaver 7 until 1 July 2011. Does not seem like much of a win.

The rates are slightly different. Here is a comparison I did when WS7 came out:

Thanks smidgey, it seems from your graph that while the WS7 gives a bit in the tier 1 it takes away in the tier 2, so not much change?

For myself, the difference was £12.23 a year for electricity, so I wouldn't be losing too much sleep over it.

There is probably a cancelation fee on websaver 6 that would outweigh any savings made by upgrading to websaver 7 anyway
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

    Yes - WebSaver6 T&Cs: http://www.britishgas.co.uk/products-and-services/energy/websaver6/t&c.html
£30 per fuel cancellation fee if cancelled before 1 Aug 2010, tariff continues until 1 May 2011.

WebSaver 7 - £30 cancellation fee if cancelled before the expiry of the contract on 1st July 2011. That's also a pretty big difference (WebSaver's usually have their cancellation fees waived part of the way into the contract unlike other BG tariffs, it appears they've stopped doing this with WebSavers).
