Greek Riots - Athens

12:30 05May10 - GREEK PROTESTERS SET BUILDING IN CENTRAL ATHENS ON FIRE, FIREMEN EVACUATE PEOPLE - EYEWITNESS

ATHENS, May 5 - Greek protesters set a building on fire in central Athens on Wednesday and a Reuters witness saw firemen evacuate at least 4 people.

"There are probably people trapped in the building," the fire brigade said in a statement adding that firemen were trying to put out the fire.

The clashes took place during a march against austerity measures, the largest since the country was gripped by a debt crisis in October last year.

Hundreds threw chunks of marble and sticks at police who responded with teargas.

I have zero sympathy for the Greeks. They want to live outside their means and expect others to foot the bill - I hope the German parliament rejects the bail out and the Greeks sink deeper into the soft, brown, malodorous stuff.
