Brita Anniversary promotions!! (merged)

Saw this on the advert yesterday (they finally are of use) and it said that brita are celebrating their 40th annivarsay and were giving away free things with purchase of these jugs of theirs. I don't know much of this product so was hoping you could help me out as to the price of these jugs and which supermarkets they sell them in.

  • I have a brita filter, but not one of the latest ones out. I have always been pleased with mine. I know they have the offer ones in the co-op and also in homebase, but would probably be worth checking around to get the best deal.

Just bought one of these packs for my sister as she gets fed up taking the lid off her Brita to fill it up (these fill through a flap in the top).

Downside of these is that at present you can only buy Brita replacement cartridges whereas the original Brita takes third party (e.g. Boots) cartridges which are cheaper and often on special offer. No doubt over time someone will start bringing out copies but for the time being you will only be able to get full price Brita Cartridges.

I looked everywhere for this promotion (Morrisons, Boots, Superdrug, Tesco) and no success. Wots the point of advertising when the shops dont have it!!!!

These water filters are rubbish, they use ion exchange so just swap one thing for another, that's why they taste so bad. If you're not on a water meter you're better off with a reverse osmosis unit, they really do filter the water and the water they produce tastes better than Evian.

I bought a new Brita a few weeks ago since Tesco were selling them for a tenner. For replacement Maxtra cartridges I ended up going to eBay, I managed to pick up a couple of replacement cartridges for around £3 each.
