Tapworks AD11 Water Softener

We are having a Tapworks water softener installed. Because we have an unvented cylinder Tapworks advise fitting a 22mm high flow installation kit.
The mains coming in is 15mm, as is the rest of the pipework.
So we will have a 15mm copper incoming pipe then a connection to a 22mm braided hose to the water softener then a 22mm braided hose from the softener back to the 15mm copper pipework.
I dont understand how this short length of 22mm pipework will affect the flow when the rest of the system is 15mm.
Are ther any experts on here that can advise/explain.
Thanks

Hi,
The 22mm pipework will help the flow of water overcome the resistance of the journey through the softener.
I would have thought 22mm incoming main would have been better on an unvented system unless you have a very good supply.

Thanks for the reply.
We do have good water pressure. About 4.5 Bar during the day.
We have recently had an unvented cylinder installed but the existing pipework is all 15mm. In hindsight it may have been better to have had that upgraded at the same time.0
