need banks account w chkbook, depositing inheritance - many questions help please

can ANYONE offer me quick practical advice. I have examined the basic thread and to be honest i could be looking at all the informations for weeks, its making my head spin

Can anyone recommend a bank/building society that accepts poor credit is easy to set up with a cheque book?
I will be receiving an inheritance soon and from what i have researched, a basic one seems useless. I would like one where it is possible to draw a large lump sumout with a cheque book and it seems basic ones dont like drawing anything out over 200 pound a day. I do not wish to be confined to this.

Failing that would it be possible to open a basic bank account and upgrade as soon as the money clears. It is a substantial sum

I have been living at a friends for some time while and paying no bill, hence no paperwork (by that i mean utility bills etc) passport and birth cirtificate i possess.

I had some personal issues and am currently sorting my life out. reason Im saying this is that i may be off the radar regarding perosnal info which any bank worth its salt, would require.
WIll this be a create a problem/query with the bank? I am useless at filling in forms etc.

also because of this would the bank be suspicious of me despositing a large cheque, a new custome unknown out of the blue? would the inheritance cheque say it WAS an inheritance? i dont want the baks to think im ORGANISED CRIME.

or is the fact that I am receiving an inheritance mean that most banks would welcome me with open arms? and i dont have to worry about the basic account problems because of the funds being depositied

3 is a building society better than a bank for this sort of thing?
4 I doubt i will be accumulating savings for along time, it is rather just so I can get at the money. I have a LOT of bills to pay.

please answer anything you can i dont expect everone to know everything and post any links

Thank you in advance for your time
