Savings linked to stock market.

I am planning to sell my house in the next 6 months and to invest the money.
I have a long term (next 10 years) positive view on the world economy.
I would therefore like to put the money into savings that are linked to the stock market in some way.
Does anyone know of a beginners guide for this sort of saving/investment ?
I would just like an overview of the different options and perhaps some specific examples to look into in more detail.
Thanks very much for any information.

I have been looking at Skipton Double Asset investment and would like opinions as to whether it is a good idea or not to go for it.
Also, the fixed rate bond is for a one year, and the Stock market investment part is deemed to be for 5 years.
Question: What happen at the end of the first year?
Thank you.0 -

Thank you.
After the first year the savings element of the package matures and you do what you want with the proceeds0 -

If it fits your need and you want a structured product then fair enough. I wouldnt have it. I had the Skipton rep pop in for a visit a couple of months ago and I told him that too. However, for a small niche of consumers it may just fit.Question: What happen at the end of the first year?
The first term deposit matures and the structured product continues until its maturity date.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Having a positive view on the world economy doesn't imply you should invest. What's important is whether your view is more positive than what has already been discounted by prices. What you need is a positive view on the valuation of whatever you invest in0 -
Go on Dunstonh, give us your tips!
Where would you lock up your money for the next 2-5 years?
