16 days after the end of the charging period in which we decide not to make the payment (or the next business day if this is a Saturday, Sunday, or Bank Holiday). The charging period normally ends on the date that we issue your statement to you.

I don't mean to be rude, and I know you were probably looking for a quick answer, but this information is freely available direct from the RBS website.

You need to ask yourself, who's a more reliable source, RBS or the lovely (but anonymous) MSE forum members? :o

Edit: I note from other threads you are 17, if so, legally you cannot be held to contract on a debt i.e. the bank can't charge you. I would contact/ visit RBS and ask for the charge to be refunded due to your age.
Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.

No, it means what it says on the tin. They will apply the charge 16 days after the end of that particular charging period.

If you read the next sentence, it says "The charging period normally ends on the date that we issue your statement to you."

I bank with RBS. Usually you get your statement at the same time each month (mine comes around 8th of the month). If you have to pay charges there is a seperate sheet behind your statement saying how much you owe and when they will take it out of your account. In my case it's around 24th of the month. This would tend to agree with the 16 days after statement being prepared as posted earlier.
If you know when you usually get your statement just add 16 days (or say 14 to make sure) then that's when you'll need to have the money in the account.

While this information is freely available online noone but you knows when your statement is prepared, as they don't send them all out on the same day for everyone.

    It's only a game
