Please help,
I just purchased a little ground floor flat with front and rear garden and there are huge spiders all around. A bit awfull when you open the door of your bedroom and see one on the floor.........It is not about cleaneness as me and my miss do a full house cleaning every 2-3 days. We do not have any carperts as all is wooden floor. Can anyone please help with a solution?
Anything will do apart from selling..........
Thanks for your help.

I'm terrified of them! I use a spray that you can buy in any supermarket/hardware shop. It's called Raid (but other makes are available too) and is sold as Ant and Cockroach killer. It works if sprayed at a live you-know-what and if you spray it round any entrances it kills the blighters for weeks afterwords.
Not very kind I don't suppose, but it works!!
Good luck!0 -
Aaah!
Years ago as a teenager living in a bedsit I too was petrified of spiders until I realised I had to try and change this around or it would affect me for the rest of my life. Firstly I decided to look at the spider as a friend afterall their favourite meal are those filthy insects THE FLY! So I started saying to myself if I saw one "it just means I have a clean place", also if any one has read "Charlottes Web" that makes you look at spiders differently. The female spider builds her web and makes everything lovely and cosy for her babies(eggs) and then exhausted she lays down and dies.(how sad is that!) I'm not saying it happens overnight but years of telling myself these things I am now braver than my husband and can pick a spider up and remove him/her to the garden. You can also buy these contraptions on a stick that help you catch the spider humanely at arms length and remove it to outside.
Just think if we kill all the spiders we could be infested with flies!!
Also Have you looked at what is in those sprays and you're breathing in all those toxic fumes!
No, I save all the spiders. I consider them one of our friends.(I'm sure Kim and Aggie would agree!)0 -
Whats so scary of spiders??
Ask yourself this question.
What would i prefer, Flys or 1 Spider??
Spiders eat flys and that!!
Spiders aint gona harm you, there friendly (excluding redback and black widow)Never do things tomorow when you can do them today.0 -
I have heard that if you put a conker in the corner of each room, it repels spiders. No idea if it works, and it's still a bit early in the year for conkers, but you may like to bear it in mind. Has to be healthier than sprays!Be the change you want to see0

Get some raid for crawling insects, go outside and spray round your window frames, spray round your door frame and spray anyplace that has 2 materials meeting eg the waste pipe from your kitchen sink spray round where the materials meet, also look for any holes in the brick work.
Then go inside spray round your skirting boards and boiler / airing cupboard and go out (also look for holes in pipe boxing if you have any)If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

My loft looks like the scene from Arachnophobia, but with bigger spiders. I'm sure they come down in the day and move the furniture.0
