Vauxhall Corsa Breakdown

Help

My 08 corsa broke down late march , repairs were covered by warranty and the dealer repaired no quibble.

Problem was i didnt have recovery , so had to get a local firm out . cost me £105..

I wrote to vauxhall asking them to pay this, also for the upset and distress it caused , being stuck on a busy road.

They replied and said its in my warranty they only cover recovery in first 12 months , thereafter its upto me. also they did apologise for my distress

Queston is what next , do i have any recourse ?

Thanks in advance

Happy

I would imagine it is your responsibilty to have breakdown cover, the cover they offer you in the first 12 months is very basic. You should look at autoaid who offer a good cover for a reasonable fee.

Unfortunatly, it is stated in your terms and conditions. There is many a company that offer this service so sadly if you chose not to take it out, then why should Vauxhall pay?

Thanks both , I kinda thought that would be the response . I was annoyed that my car should break down in the first place after such a short time,

lesson to the wise i guess , the letter was worth the stamp even to get an apology

I will check out the autoaid suggestion

    Ta muchly

    money supermarket!

I got the whole shebang in terms of recovery (homestart, call out, recovery to home, garage or other, onward journey fee's etc etc) all for under £30!
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

Guess you've answered your own question. You did not have recovery, on the hope you did not need it. You had to be recovered, a risk you took.
