Shopping Power – Money or CREDIT/DEBIT CARD???

Hi guys,
I have started this post just for fun, and also for my personal research. I just want to know whether people use debit cards/credit cards while they shop, or whether you use money.
For example, when I go shopping let’s say to my local supermarket I always use debit/credit cards to pay for shopping that comes over £10, anything less I pay by cash. In addition, when I need some shopping therapy (i.e. when I go to Jane Norman, TOPSHOP, Faith, Miss Selfridges etc you get the idea lol) I ALWAYS use my credit card.
So if you could please be kind enough to share your shopping experiences when it comes to paying.
Thanks in advance. :beer::j:T:):A

I use my debit card for anything even to buy a pack of crisps

I alway have really long bank statements lolIm an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
I'm with you, StClair- Debit card for everything. I keep a pound on me for the locker at the gym. I don't see the point of taking cash out from a counter or machine, and then giving it to a person at a till, when I can save the time and use my card.0

I take cash out when I am getting drunken but apart from that everything goes on the good old debit card.0

I use my credit card for everything over a couple of quid. I pay it off every month, and earn airmiles for my spending.
EDIT: except for going out - then I take cash so I don't overspend.0 -
I use my debit card for everything - however small. Except for shops that don't take cards or in pubs/bars/clubs/etc.
Smallest thing I've ever paid for by card? Was in Wilkinson a few years ago when I bought a single marker pen for about 15p!
The only exception is the local Indian takeaway who charge for card purchases and my greengrocer who has a minimum of £5 (although they did let me pay £3.50 by card when the ATM round the corner was broken).
I do, however, keep at least £10 in cash on me at all times and I have about £50 of cash at my flat. This is just in case there is a bank failure (as we've had recently), I lose my cards or need to get a train home in a family emergency. (Or if I fancy a Chinese delivered now that my local doesn't take cheques anymore!)0 -
I use my credit card for day to day purchases because my dad pays it off monthly as my allowance and I get a credit history.
I use it for virtually every purchase at supermarket, petrol station, bookstore, stationary shop.
I use cash for sweets, ice creams, drinks etc. and nights out.
Don't really use my debit card anymore because I live on my tips for little things and socialising and my cc for big expenses0 -
I use my debit or credit card as much as I can. I tend to fritter away cash on little things, a chocolate bar here, a magazine there. I'm much better with using cards and find it a lot easier to track my spending budget.0
