is there anything i can put on or around an apple tree to get rid of an ants nest that i think is in the roots:eek:, and that wont spoil the roots the tree or the fruit.it is to be kept in a pot.

You say "it is to be put in a pot", implying that it isn't at the moment. I'd clean the root ball up when you uproot it, and get the ants then with some nippon. If you can't do that, you need to paint a ring of tar around the trunk, fairly low down to stop them climbing up the tree, and then put a trap on the top of the soil as near to where they come out as possible.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0
