When should I buy proper shoes for my LO?

Jelly he's the youngest in his room so the others are all 'proper' toddlers already and have shoes for outside.
It's only really a problem for a few weeks as he'll be walking so soon (nearly there).
Re the wee leather shoes, we had something similar from John Lewis.
I like the Giraffe ones and might just get him a pair for now, although the soles are quite thin, but probably sturdier than two pairs of socks.0 -

roo started walking 4 weeks ago but i don't think he's ready for proper walking shoes yet. there are some half price shoo shoos on that site, i found some extra large ones thanks! i'll get some for now, and think about proper shoes later. hope they're big enough, he grew out of the large before he was ten months old.52% tight0

Dont think theres anything i can add here but arnt clarkes shoes soooooooooooo expensive - i spent 30 squids on dds first shoes but the experience was lovely - the clarkes lady made a big fuss of dd, took a picture and put it is a special paper 'my first shoes' frame with the date on and all (maybe a little money making scam by clarkes as it had the next date for a refit but hey .if you can see over that lovely all the same!)
Anyway, im glad i paid in for the experience for the first time but ever since then i vowed never to spend such exortionate prices on two tiny pieces of leather and this is what i do now....
I get her feet properly measureed at a clarkes shop and then sneakily make my excuses ie: will have to think about my choice, need to go to teh cashppoint, will by next week when i get paid and run up to Tommyballs our shoe discount store which sells clarkes returns and seconds
- just bought 3 pairs of clarkes boots, sandals and shoes for my dd for the grand total of £6.00!! 1 pair were 50p . Is anyone as fortuate to have one of these near them?? i love it!!0 -
We got a pair of Startrite pre-walkers in the end. They are sized differently to Clarks so he is a 5G instead of a 5.5G. Sets my mind at ease about him standing on something at nursery.0

i'll hunt down a startrite shop then if they do prewalkers that are big enough, thanks for that! i remember when we had one in the town centre that the children always needed a half size smaller in startrite than they did in clarkes.52% tight0

Went into Tesco today, they seemed to be having a clear out of the babies shoes, the padded pre walker types. I got DD a pair of baseball trainers for £1.75 and a pair of white/pink trainers for 75p, both should have been £3.50
. This was in the Extra store in Stockport, don't know whther it's Nationwide but worth a look out. Hope this helps someone
