Booster car seats for the elderly - any suggestions?

Hi Everyone

My 79 year old mother has a slight curvature of the spine as a result of old age. While this doesn't affect her driving, she has always used a cushion to boost her height. Now that she is looking to buy a new car, most of the ones she's test driven are quite low and she struggles to see above the dashboard.

Is anyone out there aware of some type of booster seat for someone of her age? I've googled this and child car seats keep coming up which is obviously not suitable.

Thanks

Have you checked whether it's possible to adjust the height of the car seat? I was able to do this in my last 3 cars, none of which were recent models.

Will she still be able to reach the pedals if she's higher up?

Thanks everyone. We tried a number of cars and most car seats don't raise her high enough. The only one which seemeed to work was a Citroen Picasso but was roo big. She really wants a a little run around. Would welcome any other views on newish cars that have seats that can be raised pretty high.

    thx

I too have a Zafira which has a higher driving position , so maybe look for a car with a higher driving position than a seat that raises... sorry I only know the Zafira does but I am sure there are others that are smaller

been driving 3 years almost, first car fiesta, second car Toyota corolla, now Nissan note, i worried because it is a bigger car, and you know what, its better, it's lovely i can see more, the seat adjusts up and down and the lumbar bit too, perhaps some test drives before ruling out bigger cars..

believe me i get stressed and worried over the smallest things and the car thing i was having headaches with worry..... i had nothing to worry about
