Me too. I've always wanted to write a book and I confess I wanted to BE Enid Blyton writing childrens books when I was little.
I have to say though since Easter this year I have taken up one activity I did as a child - adult tap class. If I had the time and the money I'd kill for an adult ballet class too :rotfl:

Go for it! So nice that writing makes you flutter :D

clairewop - I would make cards but I just feel mine look a little too homemade :o I'd really like a Sizzix or a die cutter of some sort but can't afford that at the moment. Perhaps I should set myself a wee challenge to raise the money for a sizzix to help me on my way.......

Are these any good? just had an email they are all half price

I hate shopping for clothes too, and with one arm a lot shorter than the other and shoulder lower and smaller than the other buying tops is a nightmare ;) tend to just wear tshirts.

Well good morning, slept well last night till 4.30, was woken by the cat meowing cause dh had locked him in the porch between the 2 doors when he had gone out to work :( couldn't get back to sleep for ages then, so i'm tired this morning.

I've tidied the kitchen (dh washed the floor for me last night) tidies the throws on the seetee and cushions had my breakfast, now i'm chilling with a coffee for five.

Having a visit from a fellow mse'r this afternoon :) so I want it tidy here (although can't do much about the beads till i've sorted the rest of the orders.

  • Morning one and all. Still feeling tingly about the prospect of launching my writing career... haven't divulged this to hubby yet. Might leave it for the journey down to Wiltshire tonight.

I am going to be off line for 3 days... so expect to come back to 20 pages to read!! :) We are heading down to where Mum and Dad live to celebrate their 70th birthdays. Mum's birthday is actually on Friday, so we are taking her shopping and for lunch at the Pump Rooms, and then we are going on a tour of her old school in the afternoon. Then on Saturday, we are all meeting up for lunch and that is going to be Dad's celebration. :) It is going to be very definitely an Un MSE weekend, but who cares! You are only 70 once! :D

Oh, and I am feeling totally star struck at the moment... I asked my newly discovered author Charles de Lint to be my friend on Facebook...and he accepted! :D

Right, have to get onto google maps and sort out directions for getting to and from places for this weekend and then I have a days work to do as well! :D

Hi all, well who'd have thought eh...there I was mooching round my usual neighbours on MSE when there's a whole new street of people just round the corner to connect with :D:hello:

On a catch up as I want to read as much as poss but also inspired on many levels re Memory Girl's journey to her destined place on the planet.

Through the power of the written word I have shifted myself from not doing to doing, all this from words typed on MSE....think what you can do with your voice.;)

As per paying it forward, I am already formulating my own plan to facilitate healing in my role (in my job) by using many of the tips and strategies posted here so again THANK YOU ALL.:T

I work with people who are 'stuck' in a destructive pattern of behaviour, be warned I'm always on the look-out for new strategies to enable some change. My head will be firmly stuck in this thread for some time.

Ironically, I too, have been incredibly stuck in some destructive behaviours...acknowledging, designing a new pattern and acting on it has given me a lovely new direction, it is very much appreciated. :happylove

Right off for a slice of newly baked bread, a coffee and more reading.

    Mornng Guys

Just back from the school run - and had to stop off on the way home for some nappies for DS2 at LIDL's.

I love our local LIDL's - cos I have made sure I know the staff, always chat to them, share little snippets of recipes with them when they have more unusual veggies in etc.

Was chatting with one of the girls whilst paying -and told her about the Kits for Kids - 10,000 smiles for Christmas challenge............ and her boss overhead (well I can project luvvie:D) and had pledged 40 tops that he has at home - used to collect by new wife says must let go of now the baby is on the way. Poster going up their later and he will collect for us in store.

So inspired I decided to stay out and dedicated fifteen minues to the cause.

Popped into Tescos and caught the boss - I've to deliver a poster to them this afternoon and they will have a collection point for staff in their rec room.

Stopped off at our local furniture project. The guy who runs that turns out to have run Sunday football leagues locally and has three sets of complete strips that I can collect from him.

He is also going to the Hearts supporters Club AGM tonight and has asked for 20 covering letters that he can give to the heads of the other supporters clubs so that they can email their members and collect old strips too.

So don't want to freak you out Olive - but look what treasures I found within three minutes walk of my home, with a baby in a buggy and a smile.

Now to gather the same cnfidence when askig for work for myself - I am using this as practice I promise:D

    I love it here!!!!!

PS Anyone got a poster they can email me yet or should I do battle with Word?

  • I have had an email from someone at work, and she is connecting with her friends including someone who is out in SA as well. :) She says she has loads of people who are mad on football and thinks we could get quite a few! :)

Bitsy - your cooking idea is great! How about offering one-to-one tuition to older teenagers getting to the point of thinking about moving out of home or going to university - I guess it would be their parents that you would really need to market to. I bet there are LOADS of Mums and Dads out there who don't feel they know enough or could structure it enough to teach their kids themselves, but would much rather know they were heading off knowing enough of the basics that they wouldn't be living off super-noodles and angel delight!

MG - the person who suggested East Anglia as a venue earlier was spot on - there are good sized student populations in Ipswich, Norwich (UEA) and Cambridge obviously. Bury St Edmunds, Diss and Thetford would all be good places to look at if you were looking for somewhere central to all three locations as the road links are good - the public transport links are not as good - I'm not sure about buses but train-wise Ipswich and Norwich are linked (along with Colchester) but although there IS a train link from Cambridge to Ipswich it's slow.....HTH?

Right - off to do a 15 minute stint with some comment I need to make on a document - Back soon! xx
