Letter from jobcentreplus - notification of a visit

Today I received a letter from jobcentreplus - Notification of a visit.

Contents of the letter:
We need to visit you to discuss and review your claim to benefit. It is essential that you make yourself available as to not to do so may affect your benefit. A Customer Compliance Officer will be calling at your home:-

On: Friday, 7 May 2010
Time: Between 12:00 and 16:00
...

Things the Customer Compliance Officer will need to see:

passport;
driving licence;
utility bills;
rent agreements;
bank statements etc bearing your name and address.
Evidence to support your claim to benefit.
I was wondering if anyone has had a visit from a Customer Compliance Officer and can give me an idea of what I should expect and how long the visit lasts etc.

I'm not worried about any visit as I have nothing to hide. I've never received a visit before, where it states under things the Customer Compliance Officer will need to see - 'Evidence to support your claim to benefit', what evidence do I need other than the listed items they need to see?

Any information would be appreciated.

    "Customer", heh. You will need to declare some things on paper (they make you sign it). If you have your bank statements ready for the last six months that'd help as well. Also, if you're claiming JSA then some correspondence to prospective employers or newspaper cut-outs should do just fine although I'm not sure about that as I've not heard someone doing this (yet).

    As you said, you have no reason to be worried if you're legit.

    Thank you tsimeh for your reply. I'm not claiming JSA, I'm long term sick receiving income support and DLA. Only a few days ago received a letter 'your incapacity assessment' stating that because I am getting the highest rate DLA are treated as meeting the threshold of incapacity.

    I have bank statements ready and all the other papers/docs they are asking to see.

    "customer" - yes, that made me chuckle! I was just wondering if anyone else has had such a letter regarding a home visit like this as I haven't heard of it and haven't come across it on this forum. Anyway, it'll be interesting!

    If it's DLA, it's totally different to what I know. Might be a bit more in-depth but like you said, you have nothing to hide so be honest about your needs and mobility. I wish you well in your home visit.
