Biggest Admin fee.... (for cancellations)

hi

i have just been quoted a £50 cancellation fee for a booking that was £135 (+£4 credit card fee)

the booking is for a sky dive photographer, who is not going to be there just for me, you are able to book on the day as the guys tend to be there anyway, and there are other people that book on the day. To cancel the booking all they need to do is cross my name off the list and arrange a refund to my card. its not like a wedding photographer who has to be booked in advance.... the booking is an open booking, for as and when i turn up. I'm not looking for a 'well what did you expect....etc' flaming post - this is just a question to see if there are higher charges out there? kind of interested is all.....

so £50/£135 gives me a 37% charge to cancel....

well what did you expect?/you should have read the small print/ you should have known there was a cancellation fee/you obviously have money to waste on a sky dive/you agreed to the terms and conditions etc etc......

There, I have just covered all the obvious responses :)

Seriously though it does seem really steep if the photographer is going to be there anyway, £50 is a lot of money.

I suppose the highest cancellation fee I know personally was that a friend of mine once couldn't make a hotel reservation as she went into hospital suddenly and they charged her card the full amount which was around £120 as she couldn't cancel. Ouch.
