Parking Problem
Options
Hi ...
Was clamped earlier, and had to pay £117.50 to be released. I feel that my clamping was harsh and unjustified and that the signage displayed was not adequate and not detailed enough.
It was through a private company on a pub car park.
I wish to appeal, could someone point me in the direction of suitable free sources?

Have you tried https://www.pepipoo.co.uk ?
What was the situation in which you were clamped? Were you not using the pub? Were there any signs about the clamping?
Either way the above site shoudl help!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
Pepipoo seems to relate to speeding tickets as opposed to parking fines?
Now ive calmed down, I will tell the story!
Went into Stone, Staffordshire and parked in the pub car park. Went into town for approx 2 minutes to get some money out so I could buy a drink in the pub. On going back to the pub, I noticed my car was being blocked in and there was something on the window, so went over and discovered I had been clamped.
I was told that I had been clamped as I had been seen going into town instead of using the pub.
There is a ticket system in place, so that when you buy a drink they give you a ticket, which you then have to go back out to the car with to put it in the car window. The release fee was £100 plus VAT. The company is called PECS. This is excessive, as parking in the area is 20p for an hour on the council car park.
I have taken pictures of all the signs in the area, but they haven't come out great so I can't really read what they said exactly. However, the signs state that on the first order in the bar you must get a ticket and put it in the car. It doesn't state that you must visit the pub first.
Once I had talked with the guy, I had to ring the head office. Woman on the phone was firm. Kept me waiting why she decided to talk to another phone call that came through, and when all was sorted she didn't say goodbye. When I had rang through and paid, the man waited in his van for 5 minutes, left the van to go into the pub and then came back 2 minutes later and then unclamped me. I believe this isn't allowed?
I intend to write to them and appeal, but I have no idea how to go about something like this so anything you could do to help would be appreciated so much!0 -
I'm struggling to find any information for appeal of a private company - lots for local authorities.
Can anyone help at all?0 -

The pub has evidently hired the clamping company. Might be worth taking it up with them as well.0
