I pity those on pre-pay rates. Based on my experience, they are paying nearly three times my rate. They may have included some "phantom" default charges in the bill (that I have never seen) though.
Prepayment rates are the same as standard tariff for BG - it's just that you'll receive direct debit discount and Click Energy 5 rates (an Online tariff).
It seems that prepayment customers can also have Click:

...but the bill you've had is probably at standard rates = more expensive. There may be phantom charges as you have suggested.
