£15, 000 to invest

Hi,
I'm posting this on behalf of my mum - she has recently come into approx. £15,000 and is unsure how to invest it. She has already put some into an ISA which has left her with this £15k, but is unsure how to best invest the rest.
She has no immediate plans for the money and no debts/mortgage to pay off and is not keen on any stocks/shares. What's the best option? Any suggestions would be welcome!
Thank you in advance!

NS&I index linked savings, tax free
pay RPI+1% - will keep ahead of inflation, fixed for either 3 or 5 years, max investment 15,000.:rotfl:
For myself I am an optimist - there does not seem to be much use being anything else.
