Hi all in need of some advice, just before xmas i opened a catalouge and up until now i have not heard from them, no statements nothing. No payments made to them yet as i thought it was buy now pay later (6months)
Today ive recieved a letter from reliable collections regarding the catalouge account and they have added around £70 onto the bill  and have said they are coming to my house tomorrow. Doesnt say why they are coming out, im unable to ring them as my phone line is down and wont be back up til friday.
Are the allowed to come to my property? do i have to let them in?
bit worried as you hear some terrible stories about some debt colletors
Thanks

You have bought from a catalogue company but haven't paid.
I would be surprised if you haven't received some form of communication from said company but mistakes can happen so I suggest you contact the catalogue company to discuss your account and lack of communication from them and hopefully come to a settlement in regard to payment.
In answer to your questions yes they can visit and no you don't have to let them in. In fact it would be inadvisable to actually let them in.
If you do communicate with the debt collectors I would do so in writing and keep copies of all communications."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

The advice from Optimist is great, I just want to reiterate that you should not let them in, and you are certainly under no obligation to do so.0
