Quicktime has an auto update feature which uses your internet connection to check for updates Here is how to disactifate it
1. acess your control panel (click on start then Settings then Control Panel)
2. click on the Quicktime
3.Then click on the drop down menu then chose Update check

4.Then un-check the Check for Update Automatically box
