Dear all,
I am in the deepest trouble, I have managed to lose my wedding ring!!!
Ive just been told I'm not covered by my house insurance, is there any insurance policy on which I may be covered, car/travel??? I dont know where to start.............
Is there anyone out there that knows what insurance may cover me?
My missus is going spare as it was worth over £500, so I need help as soon as possible.
Your prompt response is much obliged.

Your car insurance may cover it, but only if you lost it as a result of an incident involving the car. Ditto your travel insurance, if you lost it whilst on a trip. But how did you come to lose it? When did you last have it? Think about those situations when you take it off and why.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

You say it's not covered on the house insurance, do you mean the buildings insurance or the contents, usually personal items are covered on the contents insurance although may be it should have been listed as a valuable item.0

I recently lost the stone out of my engagement ring this was coverered on the house insurance. I was told by the jewlers to be careful what I say to the insurers as someone else lost there clam as they said they were out of the house.

You will have to give us a little more information.
What were the circumstances, even if you do not have "personal possesion" cover you may still be covered under your schedule do you have a heading "Items temporarily removed from the home"? If you pm me with your underwriters details I will be able to advise more specifically.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

I dont normally take it of, only when Im doing some DIY or similar. It sounds odd but I have large knuckles and slimmer fingers so once its passed my knuckle its quite loose.
I think I could have knocked it off, taken it off subconsciously, taken it off to do some work and mislaid it.......... I really dont know my house has been upturned, my car is immaculate for the first time ever! I really cant find it....0 -
If you described such circumstances in order to make a claim it would be declined I am afraid. Whoever your policy is with. You clearly think you have mislaid it about your property there is a difference between mislaid and lost, mislaid implies you may well find it again in the future (you are not insured against a temporary loss) the insurance company will also have the view that you cannot actually "lose" something in your home only mislay it to find it another day. If you lost it away from the property then you would require one of the above mentioned inclusions to your policy in order for your claim to be valid.ajtrader100 wrote:I dont normally take it of, only when Im doing some DIY or similar.
