Restoring Photos

Please forgive me if this is in the wrong place but was,nt sure where to post it,

I found a wedding photo of my parents a few months ago and would dearly like it restored as its in really bad need of repair--its mainly for a memory as they are no longer with us,

I have asked in a few places and it seems it will cost £60+ as part of my dads suit is missing so it,ll take work to put that back--but i was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that does this without such a high price tag on as i,m not working at the moment but would love dearly to be able to display this photo in its full glory.

Thanks in advance:beer:

Have you though of having a go yourself? The original photo is scanned so no harm done if you can't do it, I saw a book in the library "Restoring digital Photos for dummies" (not implying anything by the title)

You just need some editing software and a lot of patience....

My friend uses MS Paint to restore photos, but better alternatives include Paint.net & The GIMP (this can save/load in Photoshop format, and can use any PS plugins as well).
There are plenty of FREE tutorials on The GIMP.

Your local community centre, library or college might also have some classes in digital photo restoration.

And if you 'matte' it in an oval round the heads you can cut out a lot of background.

Adobe PhotoShop CS5 is on a 30day full use, free trial at the moment and is much easier to use then the earlier versions and is a skill you can pick up and do some yourself. Adobe has free "How to" videos as well.
