    Hi all

Obviously part of the problem here is that because our forum is so diverse and largely populated, the sheer variety of personalities we get on here leads to times where there are clashes, much as in life. I would still say that the vast majority of posters that come here are fantastic and it really is a minority that causes problems (again, as in life).

Remember that we are here to intervene if you feel someone has spoken in a manner not in line with our adage "please be nice to other moneysavers", and simply reporting the thread to [Removed by Forum Team] means that we can look into it for you and try and guide comments back toward being helpful and constructive.

In many cases, people often dont consider the effect of tone in their posts and what reads "normally" to them, comes across as abrupt or rude on the forum.

Generally though this is one of the most helpful forums around, and it's always a joy to see the way so many people embrace the concept of moneysaving

Have to admit...more often that most....I choose not to post when I come across 'obnoxious' posts ....I tend to think I may get people's backs up more?? I do not do this intentionally by the way.... I tend to think I'm being straight forward and to the point...whilst maybe....I come across as a bit narked...I'm not.....I'm a nice person really:D I just don't see the piont in !!!!!futting about when a 'to the point answer' will do...

And...to be fair....by the time I want to put my two penneth in...others already have..:o

unfortunatly it's a fact of life that some people will always make themselves feel better by putting people down. it's sad but true. thats why we see so much bullying in schools etc, people who feel bad about themselves trying to make others feel worse. the best thing that can be done is to ignore them and they'll go away...something i can struggle with at times a was shown in the 'i'm fat...' thread yesterday. apologies to anyone upset by my repsonses (except the people to whom i was responding), some things get my back up and i feel need to be addressed. small minded people being one.

Must admit, after my initial postings (and supportive replies), I have hardly posted on here after reading some of the offensive ones, putting people down etc. I feel fragile and depressed enough as it is and know its my own fault I am in debt and I can take constructive advice but don't think I could cope with some of these people. On the whole, you are a wonderful lot, I have never come across so many helpful folk! Keep up the good work and maybe if and when I feel stronger, I'll be able to join in again.

 you are as you are, if you aren't as you ought to be.

Only take notice of what makes you feel good or positive about the way foward:D ....ignore the rest (unless it makes good sense of course!!)....(I may get my head bitten off now...but I'm on a 'only positive' front at the mo.......I've enough pooh going on without other people's 'negative' opinions...)
  • I suppose my feelings on this are that when you post on a thread or start a thread and someone posts 'nastily' to you, its taken to heart... here we all ar in our own little comfort dfw world and we dont like people who dont think like us, or have some of our opinions.

Not that my contribution there was much help... sorry !

Some people just deserve the hoodoo though. I've met a few people on here who have made me in favour of post-birth abortion.

Some people's netiquette around here is seriously lame, and this is the opinion of someone who was using the Internet before the WWW was even invented!

Weve all heard the saying "you have to be cruel to be kind" and at times that applies

TBH ive not been reading too much of this board recently so I dont know the whole story.

People need to chill and be a bit more open minded, it is a public forum after all.

ha ha... Post birth... I like that, know a few people who should have had that including lots of DCA's who are down right bullies.

    Controversial and sorry if offensive....
