Why do some people.....

feel the need to post a thread that is just going to get peoples backs up or upset them?

This has happened quite a few times recently.............now call me naive if you want.......but I really don't see the point in posting (sometimes quite offensive) posts...that can be taken badly.......??? I'll admit ...sometimes I've written something out and thought...that could be taken differently than it's meant..or by the time I've come to post it, it's no longer relevant...so I have deleted it...

Isn't this forum about supporting people? I've seen some really quite personal attacks lately........and I have to say.......it put's me off posting ......so god know's whoever else it is putting off posting..............new people perhaps???

Please ...put a bit of thought into it before posting what may just be vitriole...........

Its so sad, but the ppl who do that are trolls, I have even seen it happen on so called support sights, for ppl who are ill or maybe vunerable, they have been brave enough to post and share something, and one of the lurking trolls will then attack them, its very sad that ppl can not all pull together, when all sharing the same fears, personally I have not seen it here yet, I have just found good and caring ppl, but no doubt trolls lurk here too, just try and ignore it Chris and just listening to the great ppl here.

Sadly, they lurk on here too....however...........credit where it is due........most don't give it much 'air'...if you know what I mean.............It's just the odd ones that get through......... I just don't like to see the good people on here...who have felt comfortable enough to post.................put through crap that some wants to post.......

I've been on other sites ...about mental health etc..........and seen what it can do to a post.....don't want to see it happen here....

Well I've got to play devils advocate and say that sometimes some people just deserve it.

"Oh help please I'm spending £100 on week on hookers but I can't afford to eat. What should I do?"

Of course that was just an example and anyone who can spend £100 a week on hookers obviously didn't check with Kelkoo first and deserves not to eat.

I appreciate that sometimes posts can get your back up.......I've seen some posts and thought OFFS GET A GRIP!!!!!...but I've thought better of posting them........I just thought my posts may be antagonistic......(have I spelt that right 'cos my brain has gone to pot...I'd like to say this weekend.....but I think it's in general!:p )

I just think sometimes those people have nothing better to do and yes it is good to know that on the whole they do not get much notice.

However sometimes as you say it is just a post that is taken the wrong but thankfully that seems to get sorted out quite quickly with everyone feeling better.

Sometimes it might just be someone having a bad day.

The idea that it puts some people off posting is understandable and very sad. all we can do is just to keep being as helpful and supportive as possible and hope they come back.

One of the problems of the internet is that you cannot see the poster's expression or body language. Often remarks that are meant to be humourous or ironic are sometimes taken to be offensive.

I have to say now that if I ever post anything offensive (past, present or future), I didn't mean it that way!

I quite agree...I've seen a couple of these over the past few days which I am sure were in jest....but I believe have completely been taken the wrong way...........and the poster has been attacked.....when maybe......it was never intentional??
