How to up my savings interest to £66 per week????

I have just gone through the "entitled to" to see if we would receive any extra ctc when my husbands contract ends in september (assuming he doesnt manage to get another job). When i put in our savings it assumed a weekly income from these savings of £66!!! Can anybody please advise me where i might get £66 per week from if i invested this money?

Thanks

Do you mean the tariff income rule? If you and your partner have combined capital/savings of about £22,500 then you probably do.

The figure is not meant to represent the interest you could get, rather, it is meant to represent that DWP expect you to run down existing savings above £6,000 before you fall back onto means-tested benefits. This is completely unconnected with interest rates.

Of course! I understand it now. I thought £66 per week was extremely high!

    Thank you
