Reclaimed floor boards, Manchester

Hi, can anyone recommend somewhere to get reclaimed floorboards in Manchester/Greater Manchester? I have heard of In Situ, but they seemed quite expensive.

Cheers!

Im afriad i cant answer the question and point you in the direction of somewhere to buy reclaimed floorboards but i can offer you sound advice. H and I own a hardwood flooring company. When buying reclaimed floorboards make sure that they are dry and have been stored in climate controled conditions, meaning that they havnt just come from a cold shed or lock up. The conditions must be stable, ie consistantly cold or consistantly warm. usually reclamation yards store wood in a dry warehouse, unheated and uncontroled. This being the case please assure that you allow the timber to acclimatise to the conditions of the room in which they are being fitted for as long as possible. we rcmd 2 weeks for climate controled timber and 3 months for non controled and reclaimed timber. This will allow the wood to dry out slowly and avoid cracking splitting cupping. if you fit your boards before fully acclimatised you will undoubetdly have problems.
Wood will absored any moisture going, be it damp, rain, steam or any kind of humidity. It might look 'dry", it might "feel" dry to the touch but beleive me unless climate controled it will have absorbed some level of moisture and should not be installed immediatly.
hope that helps you and good luck wiht finding your floor boards
