Lloydstsb and Saga savings

I think I'm right in saying that Saga is part of HBOS - if that is right, can someone please tell me if Lloyds and Saga are regarded as separate institutions for the 50K compensation limit? I'm considering opening accounts with both, but I'm not sure whether I should keep the amount below 50K between them.
