Please help! Cheap trains to London
I thought I might be able to save money getting train tickets to London in advance but it all still seems extortionate!
I want to go from Worcester (either station) to London Paddington on 28th May but the cheapest seems to be £59. Am I too late to book in advance????
Thanks in advance.

Are you planning a return trip or just one way?
A Super Off Peak Single can be had for £29.50. Valid on many trains.
An Off Peak Day Return via Evesham is £35.
An Off Peak Return via Evesham (return upto one month later) is £42.70.
All these tickets are available on the day of travel.
No need to book in advance.
Detail from East Coast Trains website.
Where did you find a £59 ticket?0 -
There are no advance tickets on the direct Worcester - London line - they are never offered. The standard fares are lower than for many journeys of a similar distance - not realy 'extortionate'
You might pick up something going via Birmingham0 -
Strange as it may seem, quite often two single tickets can work out cheaper than a return ticket0
