hi i have just ordered some willow as i wanted to have a go at making a few things but can anyone help me as i dont know what tool i need to cut/split the willow with does anyone know please

depends on thickness ,strip bark off to prolong life [ stops decay] leave on if trial , good long sharp straight blade kitchen knife , make another handle on end ,[wood and duck tape , trial way ,cut into a few inches with knife in tie string to cut end and anchor to something solid [ drainpipe -tree ect.,] draw knife along strip of willow.
I have willow tree in garden and use thinnings to make simple windbreaks / fences with green cuttings ,dump each winter.0 -
