I have forgotten the name of the one we are after ( the tall red delicate feathery one ?)
But want to know the best place to buy an established one please ?

Hmm, somewhere like Hillier? £300 sounds like a lot - how about a huge tree fern?

Oh ,good ,cheaper would be better :D
We were looking at one around 12 ft in local garden center ,it was £140 .
They said they couldn't supply one larger but we would be looking at £250 -£300 .They were pretty unhelpful ,think they wanted us to get their smaller one ;)

There are specialist Acer nurseries - I saw one firm exhibit at a Tatton Park Flower Show. I think it was this one:

but it may have been this one:

The thing about a specialist nursery is that they stock a full range, with some unusual varieties. Chew Valley has some photos and descriptions on their websites, with prices.

    Hi
Packhorse Farm Nursery is a specialist Acer nursery - based near Matlock in Derbyshire - they are doing various plant fairs, hopefully one will be near you? Great plants and really helpful (as are all specialist growers) :)!!

Tendercare at Denham is the place to buy specimen plants and large trees .....it's where all a lot of the TV garden design people get them from ....not cheap though.
