Im an Xbox widow! I posted about a month ago with a similar problem! lol.
I basicaly just have now taken it upon myself to do everything.
I recently bought him a 42" tv, and as a thank you he is letting me do whatever i want with the wedding... Which is what i was doing anyway but its a nice gesture
He has sorted his outfit for the wedding and planned the best mens matching ones thoughx

I am an xbox widdow and I have a very unhelpful OH. Firstly he was very involved, I then found out this was so as not to upset me. He since has done nothing, but when I have planned things and started making decisions (although nothing is set in stone atm) he gets all offended that we're deciding without him!! My parents are paying for the wedding so I'm planning most of it with my mum, but we're very happy for him to get involved. It's like I can't win!!!Joined Slimming World 19th May 2009

I'm a PS3/Football mgr widow as well! Especially drives me nuts if he has to reach a "save point" or whatever its called before we can have a real conversation.
Although sometimes I think it may be better just for them to agree... I turn into bridezilla whenever he makes statements such as
- "oh im sure if we ask, the venue can do different meals for each person"
- "Doesnt matter if the people don't know each other - just put all the oldies on one table, I'm sure they wont notice...."
- "We can just walk... its only a 500m walk up the hill"

Yes! Exactly what I get as well. I don't get it, if he wants something done a certain way then why not sit down with me and tell me about it? And if he's not interested then why get offended when things get done? Stupid.
Men are a mysterygood to know I'm far from the only one though!

Not men are a mystery most men just think we came in on the last banana boat and we bloody didn't!!!!
I've had it out with him and got it all out in the open I feel better for it now. We have been together 3 years today, but not celebrating it as he's at work and I've got alot on at home.

I created a very complicated Wedding Planner Budget Spreadsheet. It makes perfect sense to me but H2B is afraid of spreadsheets. He wants to be involved, so I sat down to take him through the spreadsheet, and he said "you've got it all under control I'll leave it to you". Scared him off!!

When me and OH get married (not even engaged yet but we both know it's going to happen soon) I think I'm probably going to prefer it if OH doesn't take an active role in planning. Of course stuff like the venue and guestlist is important to agree on but I already have an idea in my head about what I want the table decorations to be etc and if I gave OH the task of doing anything like that he'd come back and go 'we're having a World of Warcraft themed wedding!' or he wouldn't be MSE enough for me and blow half our budget on something silly like favours so I'd end up going mad at him and being all controlling and Bridezilla-ish which I don't want! The perfect situation for me would be me showing him the centrepieces I've lovingly and carefully picked out and found at the most bargainous place I could, and instead of grunting and continuing to look at the computer screen, he enthuses 'wow, they're beautiful and perfect, what a brilliant job you've done!'
Optomistic much?D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0
