Thought I would point this out to others as really not happy about it.

Yes you can have 14 days free trail BUT you have to register your card details first. OK you may think BUT they then contact your card provider and request a hold of £10+ be put on your funds in that account. FOR FIVE DAYS TO TEN DAYS. On a £7.49 subscription you may as well pay the first month!!!!

I only found this out today when I signed up thinking I could keep the kids busy until payday on Monday next week. Turns out that NO UNLESS THEY CAN FREEZE THE MONEY IN YOUR ACCOUNT THEY WON'T ALLOW YOU TO USE THE SERVICE.

They never credited me the 200 Extra Clubcard Points for the free 14 day trial which I did 3 months ago, and they charged me for the first month even though I made EXTRA SURE I'd cancelled and returned everything 2 days before the 14 days were up.

Absolute bunch of crooks.

Concur with what was said above. Not the service I expected from Tesco at all. I had quite a row with their 'customer service' dept. after receiving dvd's after I had emailed to cancel the service. What really got my goat was their poor attitude. Very nearly lost Tesco's a good customer.

I have found the Tesco's DVD trial to be quite poor. I would never pay for the service. Since my trial is 2 months I'll make sure I cancel it a week or two before to be safe...

I have to say that I've had good service from Tesco DVD rental. I'm halfway through my free trial and will be carrying on with the service after the free trial ends.

When I signed up over the bank hol weekend it just so happened that nearly a week went by without my receiving any DVDs. So I emailed them politely asking for my free trial to be extended and they agreed without any fuss at all. The DVDs come quickly and since I pretty much use the service for older DVDs I haven't had any problems getting my number 1 choices.

Surely there is a good business reason why they need to freeze that money?
