Trust Deed firm liquidated and I'm stuck in Trust deed beyond the 3 years!
Hello All,
I hope this wee story either warns/helps or just the sharing enlightens you all to a pretty sticky problem.
I entered a trust deed in Scotland 3 years and 4 months ago.
I paid the agreed £500 per month for the full 36 months until this January 2010.
Now, on contacting my trustee, I was told that the original company who held my trust deed (Adie Financial Services, Aberdeen) had gone into liquidation and that my trustee was now in a court case with the company whom the liquidators had sold the company to (Cleardebt Group).
I am unable to obtain a release from my trust deed although I paid & played by the rules.
I now have to wait for a court case to go through reagrding whether or not my trustee can regain control of my trust deed and then arrange the appropriate closure/release.
If anyone out there is having a similar problem, I would really appreciate your thoughts.
All the very Best

The court case shouldn't affect you really except in that there is now a delay before anyone can properly close your case. You're not still paying anyone anything are you?
Once the courts decide who is in charge of your case then that company/person/whatever will be responsible for tying up the loose ends for you. I would probably go ahead and insist that the company who bought your case pull their finger out and do what needs doing for you.
Had you been making payments to the new company?Would you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?
