you managed to put some memory in the wrong way round, that isnt an easy thing to do and I take my hat off to you. the problem is proberly down to the memory slotsthe force that you used to jam the memory home could have caused so many things to strees and flex that you could have broken some of the tracks in the pcb on some of the lower layers, proberbly damaged the connector edge of the memory also connecting the memory up in reverse god knows where the power from the board to the memory was connected.

damaged memory? proberbly who knows if it is both as modern boards work together more.
    cpu? unlikley
motherboard again possibly if somthing went pop there is proberlby some visable damage to one or more components take the board out and have a look underneith

That's exactly what I thought when I first saw this thread.

I've had repairs in the past where I only needed to reseat pci cards properly to get things going (too little pressure), but to force RAM down past the slots must have taken some doing.

I wonder what size sledge hammer is required to force memory in like this:T :T :T :T :T :T

Did you get retaining clips in place as well ??

  • Agreed with the above..

Destroying the motherboard slot to get the ram in.. jesus. heard of too strong for your own good but lets be honest now :p
