Hi hope someone can help
Recently I ordered online with Asda for home delivery. I called to chase up the delivery only to be told exactly when & what time it was delivered. They stated they had left the deliveriy outside my front door in the communal area of my block of flats, as they thought it 'safe' to do so. There is a 'trades button for the postman etc to gain access & we have cleaners & various different people who come in & out all the time.
Am i within my rights to demand a refund on the basis that they left it in a valnrable place? I have never seen this parcel & it was over £100 in goods. These items were for my holiday & I now won't be able to buy any clothes because i have already paid for them on my using the last bit of money on credit card at point of order.
Any help would be greatfully received
Thanks (Sorry my spelling is awful)

Have you checked with all the other flats to see if they have it? I'd do this first, and if there's no sign of it, then insist that ASDA give you a refund, as they've already admitted to just leaving it outside your front door.
If that doesn't work, contact your credit card company.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I've checked with all the neighbours, reported it to my management company to inform them someone must of taken it, checked the notice board downstairs to see if there had been a note left. I just don't want to demand a refund if they are well within their rights to say no! I won't be ordering anything else online thats for sure, I thought they would of left a card so i could go & collect or arrange a suitable del time. Never thought anyone would leave something of that value outside a front door.. bit stupid really. Thanks0

Could you go into the asda fill your trolley pay at checkout then leave your trolley there while you just nip to the shop across the road, come back to the asda and find your trolley was missing...do you think asda would be liable for your shopping going missing....even though you have your reciept that you paid for the shopping am sure they would tell you that you left it there at your own risk...well thats how I see what they have done in your case they have left your delivey at their risk, if you took this further am almost certain asda wouldnt have a leg to stand on.0

Definitely irresponsible of them to leave it somewhere where people go in and out and without a signature. Why should you pay for their error? I would be asking for a refund straight away and to be honest they should see they are at fault and give you a refund without dragging their heels. No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -
I would suggest you first report the theft to the police, at least that way you get a crime number to add weight to your argument and the police I would expect to question the delivery driver which again will add weight to your argument.Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! In that case the goods were in the possession of the OP so it would be their faultCould you go into the asda fill your trolley pay at checkout then leave your trolley there while you just nip to the shop across the road, come back to the asda and find your trolley was missing...do you think asda would be liable for your shopping going missing....even though you have your reciept that you paid for the shopping am sure they would tell you that you left it there at your own risk...well thats how I see what they have done in your case they have left your delivey at their risk, if you took this further am almost certain asda wouldnt have a leg to stand on.
In the case above the OP never had the goods in her position, It's the company's responsibility to get the goods into her possession and they failed to do that!Yes Your Dukeiness

Asda gave the contract to the courier, so it's up to them to chase it up, in the meantime they should refund\replace the missing items.I cant see how this is ASDAS fault, surely its the courier company?
The police won't listen to the O.P either as the goods still belong to ASDA till delivery is confirmed, it would be up to ASDA to contact the police. If at first you don't succeed, maybe bomb disposal isn't the best career choice.0
