i got my delivery this morning with the glitch. Altho i dont think any1 ealse did. I left the correct amount of money in my back account, so they couldnt overcharge me if the glitch didnt work. Maybe thats y i got my shopping with the glitch. Must admit i was very very lucky.
Wow - i knew Tesco were big - but i wasn't aware they knew how much we all had in the bank. :eek:0 -

WORKING
IN SOME STORES
I was close to a Superstore Wednesday morning
All 3 variants on a shelf - about 80 cartons in total - SEL showing 59p & BUY 1 GET 2 FREE
Did a TEST purchase with 3 at a Self-Scan - each came up at 59p but followed immediately by a -£1.18 refund - MINOR PANIC when my other items were less than expected and TOTAL TO PAY was MINUS 11 pence
Thought this might alert staff to a problem if I pressed "Finish & Pay"
Quickly grabbed a Mars bar from a nearby stand which brought it up to 34p - paid and put items in car. This was 10:30 am
Returned a little while later - picked up 22 cartons and a litre bottle of GIN.
Another minor panic when the EXTRA discount was £12.98 and the Gin was ONLY £12.99
Of course an SA had to overide the "Is customer old enough to buy alcohol?" and remove the security collar from the bottle.
She didn't notice anything awry so I quickly inserted a 1p coin to pay the bill, grabbed the receipt and left. This was 11:00 am
As it happened I was passing again about 5pm and decided to call in again.
Just 5 packs left so picked them up and a 6-pack of catfood for £3.
Total to pay at till 5p
On the way home tried the city centre METRO store at about 6pm.
2 variants on the shelves - SEL as before - 59p & B1G2F
Test purchase - UNSUCCESSFUL - just showed 59p each and only at the end did I get a £1.18 total discount - so just the B1G2F
Had to go out much later and about 8pm this took me very close to a Tesco EXTRA.
Nipped in - NO SIGN of the little beauties - no shelf space where I expected to find them - no SELs
Just giving it up as a bad job when I found 2 full packs (16 in each) sitting on top of other boxes making up an end of aisle display for other products.
Popped just one in trolley with a few other reduced items and headed for a self scan.
Just scanned at the disappointing 59p (no immediate -£1.18 followed) so made an excuse that I'd fogotten something and got a SA to cancel it.
Took it back to where I'd found it thinking that it must just be Superstores where the glitch still worked since I'd had no success at an Extra or a Metro, or maybe at some point after 5pm it had been fixed everywhere.
Anyway, still not a wasted visit, some reduced vegetables etc. AND I picked up 6 bottles of the "PRICE CUT" wine that's on clearance.
Only cost about £14 but original price would have been about £40:beer: (1 was just £2.14 reduced from £6.99)
With further PRICE CUT WINE in my sights, and not expecting to find more "extra special" Tomatoes with the added CASH BONUS :rotfl: , I decided to try the other EXTRA that was just 5 minutes and a couple of miles away.
Couldn't resist just seeing if the Tomatoes were on the shelf as I was heading for the Wine section.
Exactly the same as the previous Extra, no shelf space, no SELs for it/them, none to be seen.
THEN, out of the corner of my eye, ON THE VERY TOP !!!
NOT the TOP shelf - BUT ABOVE THAT ! TWO FULL BOXES
Where things are "stored" or "displayed" sometimes - where the "shelf edge" might have advice that you should ask staff to get things down for you.
Right up there.
On tip-toe I just managed to get 1 carton down.
Took it in my trolley (with a few more reduced items) to a self-scan.
BINGO YET AGAIN :rotfl: 59p followed by an immediate -£1.18
Made the same excuse as before, saying I'd forgot to pick up a bottle of wine.
SA came across  OH BOTHER !
I'm watching her as I head towards Wines & Spirits
SA took a VERY long time looking at the screen, pressing buttons, more looking at the screen.
Then I get "paranoid" - was she looking in my direction ? Looking me me directly ?
If I get more will she stop me going through ? Will she be waiting for me?
I head for the wine anyway - that's what I'd made this final visit for.
Sadly I'd been beaten to it - empty spaces where I expected to find several bottles under £3
Just one hiding in a corner - £1.84 reduced from £5.99
OK, back to the Tomatoes - do I get some and risk it ?
YES !!!
Worst that can happen is that I'm not allowed to buy them and I leave empty handed.
So back to the "cash-back" aisle, VIA the Spirits section for another litre of GIN  ....
... check to see if I'm being watched, stretch to the very top, grabbed a full box - that's 16 cartons.
Decide I want 21 altogther, so get another 4.
Also decide I don't want a VERY VERY low total (eg A few pence) to pay at the end, so I grab a 6-pack of catfood like I did earlier.
Heading towards the tills the same SA is close to the self scans
Decide to go through a normal till and not do a self-scan - lot easier to get the operator to key in a quantity of 21 than scan them individually myself and draw attention IF they are on their guard.
So, I made sure all the other items went through first and just put 1 Tomato Carton on the belt, leaving the other 20 in the trolley.
SA never batted an eyelid when asking for just £5 something despite having just scanned a bottle of Gin, a bottle of wine, 6 tins of catfood, several other reduced items AND 21 cartons :rotfl:
Paid up and left quicklyAND that was just before they closed - just beore 10pm
So it is (was late Wednesday night) still working in some places.
Not sure how you tell other than trying it.
I had both success and failure at 2 EXTRA Stores that are less than 2 miles apart
Happy hunting

Wow - i knew Tesco were big - but i wasn't aware they knew how much we all had in the bank.
Tescos charge you the amount the food is on promotion for on the day they deliver it to you. So for example if i ordered 10 chickens online for £5 (mormal price £7) each on promotion on the 1st may, for delivery on the 5th may. The "guide price" would be £50.
But if the promotion ended for these chickens on the 3rd may, and i hadnt noticed when i purchased them online, i would be charged for the cost of the chickens at £7 each, as by that time the promtion had ended.
So when i placed my order for the tomatoes and food, i left the correct amount in my bank so that if they tried to withdraw the "correct amount for the tomatoes" (if they had noticed the glitch online by the time of my delivery) then i would go overdrawn, and tesco would immidatly cancle my order due to lack of funds in my account.0 -
